Description of the different types of loft conversions

Rear Dormer

Rear Dormers give you the maximum amount of space because you are not restricted by the roof shape. The roof is squared off at the rear. It makes it easier to have an en suite bathroom

Side Hip End Dormer to hip ended roofs

Some local authorities only allow this style of  side dormer. This enables us to give head height for a staircase above the existing staircase.

Bonnet Dormer

Local authorities only allow full dormers to be erected at the rear or sire of a property, however they will generally allow bonnet dormers a the front. These are a very attractive addition to a property.

Velux

A conversion of this type does not involve changing the shape of the roof at all but utilizes the space in the loft area. These are generally less expensive conversions but still give you the benefit of a n additional room
